Position Summary:
A Rental Technician is responsible for outfitting all guests with rental equipment and explaining its safe use. The ideal candidate is outgoing, fun, and great at building customer relationships. We aim to build diverse teams with a range of expertise and backgrounds.
*All Whistler Blackcomb Resort Associates work across multiple departments to ensure fulltime hours (40 hours per week) and job variety. So, in addition to the responsibilities of this role, you can expect to be trained and work not only in your department but in other departments as well. Candidates must be willing to work 40 hours per week and be open to working in multiple areas.
What you’ll be doing:
- Maintain a high level of customer service at all times.
- Greet every guest that enters the Rental shop.
- Ensure that the guests accurately complete rental forms.
- Size the guests’ foot and find the appropriate fitting ski or snowboard boot for that guest.
- Recommend ski or snowboard length and ensure the accurate setting of the bindings.
- Choose a pair of poles for the guest.
- Provide resort and mountain information for the guest.
- Advise guests of runs suitable for their ability level.
- Check all returned equipment for damage.
- Maintain cleanliness of shop and proper storage of all equipment.
- We are a company that works together and throughout the season; you may be required to assist other departments as needed.

Qualifications:
- Demonstrate our core values: Safety First, Striving to be the Best, and Showing that We Care
- Strong customer service skills.
- Must be approachable, dependable, and a responsible member of the team.
- Must be able to deal with customers of various ages with animation, but also with patience.
- Previous ski industry experience is an asset yet not required
- Previous cash handling experience is an asset yet not required
- BC Drivers License and Drivers Abstract an asset yet not required
- Proof of clear criminal record check.
