Den Master
Job Summary:
As a member of the Whistler Blackcomb Snow School Support team, you will create a fun and memorable experience for children. You will work in Whistler Kids and support our instructors and children taking part in lessons. In this role, you will be supporting instructors with children in their groups/classes who are struggling during the day due to separation anxiety, jet lag and sick or sad. You will be working both indoors and outdoors. The majority of the children in the Den are ages 3-6 years old. It is the responsibility of the Den Master to assess the child’s situation and contact parent if need be, otherwise engage with the children to get them back on the hill with the group.
What you’ll be doing:
- To continually strive to exceed our Guest’s expectations and to create memories for guests and staff as the best mountain experience again and again
- To help any instructor with children that cannot continue with their lessons for different reasons, such as being unhappy, cold or tired.
- To entertain children of all ages inside Whistler Kids with games, arts and crafts, free play time, lunch and nap time.
- To attend all mandatory training sessions.
- To be familiar with all Whistler Kids programs, prices and lesson times.
- To be responsible for the communication between supervisors & instructors.
- We are a company that works together and throughout the season you may be required to assist in other departments as needed.
- Always show up on time, in uniform, and adhere to the grooming policy.
Qualifications:
- Patient, creative & adaptable.
- Ability to look after upset children.
- Experience in daycare setting or Early Childhood Education qualification is an asset.
- Intermediate skiing or snowboarding ability is an asset.
- Proof of clear criminal record check (must be provided BEFORE you start work).
