Objective: To represent Norquay as a friendly, helpful employee with an emphasis on cash- handling and cleanliness.
Reports to: Food and Beverage Manager, Cafeteria Supervisor
Specific Expectations: The most important aspect of your position is to maintain excellent customer service, in addition to ensuring that you are providing your customers and co-workers with a safe, sanitary, and quality food or beverage product. You will be responsible for the cleanliness of multiple facets of the lodge, as well as providing exemplary cash-handling skills.
Responsibilities (not limited to, but including):
- Follow all Occupational Health and Safety standards that are outlined in your checklists- your safety is our number one priority
- Arrive to work on time- punctuality is key
- Be available to work days, evenings and/or weekends
- Have strong communication skills in order to effectively work with coworkers and customers
- Posses the ability to think quickly in a fast-paced working environment
- Follow procedures in accordance with appearance and uniform standards
- Ensure customer satisfaction with efficient, friendly service
- Handle customer complaints in a professional manner, alerting your supervisor or manager if you need to do so
- Maintain sanitation, and health and safety standards in work areas
- Clean, stock, and restock workstations, fridges, and displays
- Should be in good physical condition with the ability to lift and carry heavy loads up to 50lb
- Bussers clear tables, maintain condiment areas, and assist guests with any enquiries
- Responsible for opening and closing the cash register every shift, and ensuring that all the money balances
- Put a large importance on cleanliness, constantly make sure that the workspace is up to our standards, and posses a “clean-as-you-go” mentality
Probationary Period: Each employee has a probationary period of three months, meaning that at any point during your period of employment with Mt. Norquay you can be terminated without cause and without compensation.
Notice: The Cafeteria Staff position runs from December through to April; you will be expected to commit to this entire term when accepting this position, unless otherwise agreed upon with Management. If any unforeseen circumstances arise, you are to give Mt. Norquay at least two weeks’ notice in order for us to hire and replace a new individual for your position.
