POSITION DESCRIPTION:

Front Desk Agents provide an exceptional service experience to guests staying at the Glacier View Inn and visiting the Columbia Icefield. You will offer a professional and efficient check in /out service to guests, and coordinate with other hotel and Icefield Centre staff to ensure visitors receive the best possible experience during their stay. Responsibilities include; understanding all safety procedures and practices with the confidence to handle an onsite emergency situation, reliably support co-workers in meeting/exceeding operational goals and expectations, collecting payment for rooms by cash, credit card or voucher, and assisting with housekeeping and guest services duties as required. The Columbia Icefields is a unique employment opportunity located in a beautiful wilderness location within Jasper Park.

IDEAL CANDIDATE:

The ideal candidate will possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities:

  • Proactive, engaged and empowered
  • Willing to work a variety of shifts, including nights
  • Computer experience required, preferably with a hotel software system
  • Effectively work with limited supervision
  • Cash handling experience
  • Excellent employee and customer service skills, with a friendly and cooperative nature
  • Strong organizational skills, takes initiative, and attention to detail
  • Mature, energetic, and dependable, self-motivated and enjoy working within a team
  • Ability to reason and react with quick, thoughtful judgement, while remaining calm under pressure
  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken, with ability to clearly communicate over two-way radio
  • Capable of performing demanding physical/manual duties (as required)
  • Meet Brewster grooming standards
  • Enjoy working in a remote wilderness location (camp setting) and have an outdoor/explore enthusiast nature
  • Class 5 driver’s license
  • Second language an asset
