Lift Operator 2 applications

Objective: To represent Norquay as a helpful and friendly employee who is always happy to provide excellent customer service to our guests, while assisting in the daily operation of our chairlifts in an efficient and safety conscious manner.

Reports to: Lift Supervisor, Lift Manager

Specific Expectations: The most important aspect of your position is to safely and professionally operate a chairlift while maintaining excellent customer service with all of our guests. You are to possess accurate knowledge of Mt. Norquay and the surrounding area in order for you to be as helpful as possible. You are to enjoy working outdoors, and should be capable of a strenuous working environment.

Responsibilities (not limited to, but including):

  • Follow all Occupational Health and Safety guidelines- your safety is our first priority
  • Arrive to work on time- punctuality is key
  • Have strong communication skills in order to effectively work with coworkers and customers
  • Posses the ability to think quickly in a fast-paced working environment
  • Follow procedures in accordance with appearance and uniform standards
  • Ensure customer satisfaction with efficient, friendly service
  • Handle customer complaints in a professional manner, alerting your supervisor or manager if you need to do so
  • Perform safety checks on chairlift and fill out safety log
  • Guide each chair (weighing up to 250 lbs) for passenger loading
  • Must be familiar with assigned lift: brakes, electrical systems, mechanical drives
  • Maintain safe conditions by checking loading and unloading ramps constantly
  • Set up and maintain signs, temporary fences and mazes for chair loading and unloading
  • Work and stand outdoors in all weather conditions for extended periods of time
  • Help with crowd control on weekends and holidays
  • Potentially directing cars in parking lot on busy days
  • May be required to climb lift towers to access lift motor rooms
  • Should be in good physical condition, able to lift up to 50lb (ie. Help children onto chairs)

Probationary Period: Each employee has a probationary period of three months, meaning that at any point during your period of employment with Mt. Norquay you can be terminated without cause.

Notice: The Lift Attendant position runs from December through to April. You will be expected to commit to this entire term when accepting this position, unless otherwise agreed upon with Management. If any unforeseen circumstances arise, you are to give Mt. Norquay at least two weeks notice in order for us to hire and replace a new individual for your position.
