Support, Cashier & Events Staff 2 applications

Support, Cashier & Events Staff are responsible for the day-to-day maintenance and cleanliness of the Happy Valley Day Lodge. Team members will also service banquet functions, weddings and other group bookings; as well as working as a Cashier in the cafeteria. Support, Cashier & Events Staff will be required to provide assistance to all other staff across the Food & Beverage department to help ensure a positive experience for our guests.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Following BC liquor laws and signing the ID pledge daily, stating that you will ask for two pieces of identification from anyone who looks under 40 before serving alcohol – no exceptions
  • Clearing and wiping all tables, chairs and floors within the Happy Valley Day Lodge to maintain a high level of cleanliness at all times
  • Ensuring all cutlery/condiment stands and drink fridges are well stocked
  • Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of the floor plans of all areas of the day lodge
  • Checking all washroom facilities at regular intervals to maintain clean and fresh facilities
  • Following all opening, closing and daily ongoing procedures and ensuring all tasks are completed
  • Assisting with the set up, service and tear down of group functions
  • Maintaining excellent communication with all other staff members to promote a positive team environment
  • Performing all side work duties as requested by Managers and/or Chefs
  • Cleaning windows/entrance doors as needed
  • Salting/shoveling entrances to ensure the safety of all guests and staff
  • Emptying all garbage/recycling bins and maintaining the cleanliness of the garbage/recycling room
  • Notifying the Manager/Supervisors of any maintenance issues requiring attention
  • Maintaining the cleanliness of the Adventure Park facilities

Position requirements/skills:

  • Must have a valid Serving it Right Certification or equivalent by the first day of employment (must be dated on or after October 18, 2018)
  • Must have an understanding of Duty of Care as it relates to the responsible service of alcohol
  • Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Must maintain a high standard of personal appearance and grooming, including wearing the correct uniform/footwear and name tag while working
  • Must be organized and punctual, reporting for work on time
  • Knowledge of SWP, SJP and WHMIS considered an asset
  • Must be able to work flexible hours including nights, weekends and holidays, and may be required to work overtime during busy periods

Physical demands:

  • Spend significant portion of time spent standing and walking
  • Lift up to 50lbs multiple times a day
  • Work outside in cold conditions
